Instructions:
Actually, there are no real instructions. You may do what you want with each page. Here’s what I envisioned for this coloring book:
- I invite you to explore the world of your own imagination and create your own unique works of art. Each page is drawn by myself, no AI involved.
- Before you start coloring, look at the drawing. Decide what you see. Trust me, most people see different things when they view my artwork.
- Once you decide what you see, now decide if you like what you see or you want to change or add to it. Write your thoughts in your own journal so you can be guided when you start to make changes. Keep a journal so once your piece is complete, you can proper explain it to your admirers.
- Take a look at the white space on the page. Do you want to add elements there? Maybe a landscape with trees and grass. Perhaps a night sky with shimmering stars and a bright moon. Is the face or other parts of the drawing complete or not expressive enough for your vision? Maybe add or change elements there. Write it down in your journal before you start drawing. Cover lines you don’t want with a white marker or pencil. There are many other ways of covering up black lines, use your imagination.
- Think about your colors. Do you want gray scale or vibrant colors? Remember, you do not have to follow rules, just make it so you like it. If you like it, others will too. Write your ideas about color in your journal, you can always change your mind.
- I suggest you use colored pencils. If there are lines on the original drawing that you don’t want, color over the lines. Write you plan in your journal.
- Next, add some shading to your artwork. Shading can be any color you decide. Adding shading to artwork is used for a number of reasons, including:
- To create the illusion of depth and dimension.
- Shading can be used to make objects appear three-dimensional on a two-dimensional surface. This is done by using darker shades to represent areas that are further away from the light source, and lighter shades to represent areas that are closer to the light source.
- Shading can also be used to add texture and detail to artwork. For example, by adding shading to the fur of an animal, you can create the illusion of soft, fluffy fur. Or, by adding shading to the folds of a piece of fabric, you can create the illusion of realistic drapery.
- Shading can also be used to create a sense of mood and atmosphere in artwork. For example, using dark, dramatic shading can create a sense of mystery or suspense. Or, using light, airy shading can create a sense of peace and tranquility.
- Shading can also be used to guide the viewer’s eye around the artwork. For example, by using darker shading in the foreground and lighter shading in the background, you can create a sense of depth and perspective. Or, by using shading to create highlights and shadows, you can draw the viewer’s attention to certain areas of the artwork.
- Finally, I would love to see your finished piece. You can take a picture of your artwork and email it to me. I will respond to each email received. Let me know if you would like your artwork posted on my website.
Thanks for purchasing my coloring book. It’s your coloring book now. Enjoy your creative imagination.
